Dominion watercolor papers are double sized. The gelatin on the surface makes their surface more resistant and allows the watercolor to be moved with water to reduce or increase the color.
In addition to the internal sizing, our Dominion watercolour papers are treated with a surface sizing of gelatin to make them harder. Not all watercolorists prefer the suface sized paper; it is a question of style.
