Urea is a humectant that attracts moisture from the air. Urea is used when applying dye solutions directly to fabric, as in tie dyeing or hand painting. It slows the drying process; therefore it allows more time for the dye to react with the fiber and yields deeper shades. Urea can be used with Sodium Alginate thickener for screen printing, painting or direct dye application.
Instructions
Add 1 tablespoon/15 g Urea per 8 fl oz/0.24 L solution (¼ cup/57 g per 1 qt/0.95 L of dye solution).
