Monday, January 20th, 10-4pm
Instructor: Pam Lobb
Over the course of the day, participants will learn about the history of block printing and the many techniques that can be used to create different effects. In this medium, a variety of cutting tools and gouges are used to remove the surface (traditionally linoleum, or wood) and what is left behind becomes the printed surface. This course will teach you about the language of mark making and patterning, proper techniques for cutting, and the different methods of printing. Using a variety of papers, printing will be done both by hand and with a press.
