Saturday, January 18th, 10-4 pm
Instructor is Andra Ragusila
Throughout the day, attendees will learn how to convey emotions in portrait art through the effective use of color. The workshop commences with a brief presentation explaining the principles of color theory in portraiture, and delving into the expressive potential of colors. The instructor will exemplify key techniques with a live demonstration, and will then lead the participants through a series of exercises focused on studying various aspects of color.
During the workshop, students will gain proficiency in layering pastels, employing an underpainting base followed by applications of both soft and hard pastels. To maximize the time dedicated to plating with color, students will be provided with pre-prepared portrait drawings for tracing.
