Artist Reception: March 29th, 3-5PM
Paige Bromby is an artist and community facilitator based in Fergus Ontario, on the traditional lands of the Petun, Haudenosaunee, Attiwonderonk, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. In 2019 Bromby showcased an immersive painting installation at Capacity 3 Gallery (Guelph). Upon graduating from the University of Guelph with a Bachelors of Arts in Studio Art in 2020, Bromby began delivering arts programs and workshops within the region, while continuing to exhibit her paintings in various galleries across Ontario. Her exhibition ‘Clay in the Soil’ at N/A Gallery (Guelph) in 2021 explored the drastic changes and history of Bromby’s family farm, which is often the subject of her work. In 2023, she attended the Artist Parent Project Residency with MOTHRA at Gibraltar Point Toronto Island. Working primarily in painting, Bromby explores her relationship to the land in a digital age.

Over-saturated is a collection of works that are recordings and reinterpretations of Landscapes. These paintings record a series of interactions between artist, landscape, paint and technology. Pivoting between these mediums I build up the layers of the landscape through the recording of shapes I deconstruct while looking at the reference image off of a screen. Manipulation and abstraction of the landscape happens at every stage of the process. The finished works are not direct depictions of the land but rather a reflection of my experience interacting with the landscape through multiple mediums.
